Regional Initiative against the Illegal Exploitation of Natural Resources

T.I.C.

The Tantalum-Niobium International Study Center (T.I.C.) was established in 1973 to support, develop and promote the global tantalum and niobium industries. Today the T.I.C. has around 90 member companies from 25 countries involved with all aspects of the tantalum and niobium industry supply chain, including mining, processing, recycling, metal fabrication, capacitor manufacturing, and medical applications. Central to the T.I.C.’s mission is to increase awareness and promote the remarkable properties of tantalum and niobium in all their forms, disseminate relevant information to stakeholders, and address the challenges facing its members.

The T.I.C. represents the interests of the tantalum industry on the iTSCi Governance Committee, a regional due diligence traceability program that operates in several ICGLR Member States. The T.I.C. sees the ICGLR as a key stakeholder in subject of supply chain with regard to columbite-tantalite produced in ICGLR’s member companies in Africa and looks forward to a long and productive partnership in the future. The Conference Secretariat is an Associate Member of T.I.C.
